JIBIDEE.COM -- PRIVACY POLICY

Jibidee.com recognizes the importance of and is committed to the utmost privacy for our users' information (data). The specific information you enter on Jibidee.com is private to you, highly secured, backed-up daily and will not be shared with third parties with the exception of limited anonymous information shared with advertisers as described specifically herein.

Webcarnation LLC is the sole owner of the information collected on Jibidee.com. Any future transfer of ownership will be prominently posted on our website and you will be notified via email. Our pre-existing privacy policy at that time will be adhered to and transferred to the new owner.

Security. We take security on the site very seriously. We currently use the "McAfee Secure" certification process to regularly scan our servers for intrusion vulnerabilities. The McAfee Secure certification status, which can be easily verified by users on our home page with the logo and date last tested, requires that no major vulnerabilities were detected on last scan. We also use SSL encryption technology from Thawte for all data transmission to and from the site, from simple user list information (e.g. grocery list) to of course any credit card transactions. Additionally, our web servers are housed in a tier-one data center with physical/biometric security in place, monitored 24x7x365.

Demographic Information. We may share anonymous demographic information with our advertisers for the purpose of tailoring the advertising experience. The goal is to display ads that are more relevant to the user. Personally identifiable information will never be shared with advertisers.

Contextual Ads. Titles of sheets you create on the site may be used, in an automated and anonymous way, to give you ads related to your sheet(s). For example, if you create a sheet entitled "Vacation Ideas", you may see ads related to vacations because the term "vacation" is in the sheet title. The content of your sheets is private to you and will NOT be accessed for any purpose (e.g. your specific list of vacation destinations).

Emails for Sharing. Our sharing function allows users to share sheets/documents (e.g. favorite books, etc.) with other people. All that is required is a user know another person's email (being a site member is not required to receive shared sheets/documents). The recipient receives an email from the sharer with a link/URL to the shared sheet. The assumption is that if one knows another's email address, the recipient should be ok receiving an email from that person (likely they know one another). Although at the time of this writing we do not have a "block sender" or "no email" setting, we do have plans to build this feature.

Sharing Forward. At this time, your share recipients will have the option of making a copy of the sheet/document you share with them and "sharing forward" that sheet to other recipients without your knowledge or control. So, be sure you trust those you share with and be mindful of the information you share. Planned for later 2008, users will have ability to provide "read-only" access to recipients, disallowing copies or "forward sharing".

No Public Visibility. The information you enter on this website is not visible to search engines or any other public location. Your information is accessible only by you and those you specifically share sheets/documents with through the sharing function. In the event you share information with someone (via their email address), only that person can view the particular information you shared (unless they "share forward" your sheet/document as described above, although still not publicly visible).

Registration. Information you provide on the registration form (name, email address, etc.) is used only for the purposes of (1) fully using the sharing functionality (your share recipients recognize your name and email address), (2) emailing you if you opt-in for our newsletter (which you will always have option to unsubscribe) or service related announcements, (3) your email serves as your login username, (4) demographic information may be used anonymously for advertising purposes (advertising is limited to within the site itself and you will not be spammed or contacted in any way).

Orders. If you choose to purchase a subscription service from this website, we will need to collect personal information such as credit card numbers to process the transaction but that information will not be stored by Jibidee.com. It will only be transmitted at that time only to the third-party credit card processing company for the sole purpose of processing the transaction.

Offensive Material, Solicitation or Harassment. If a user contacts us regarding another user that is propagating offensive material, soliciting or harassing other users, we will investigate by looking at the specific information in question, from the recipient's account, with their permission. We will not access the account of the accused offending party without their permission. If our investigation confirms or leads us to believe the complaint is valid, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the offending account with or without prior notice.

Opt-Out or Terminate Account. Users will always have the ability to opt-out of receiving newsletter communication (if previously they had opted-in) and/or permanently terminate their account completely. These options are available under the "My Account" or "Edit Profile" link located on the website (may not be available at time of this writing, we are in "beta", this feature scheduled by July 2008).

Cookies. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user's computer for record-keeping purposes. We use cookies for the following purposes: (1) remembering the username from last login and pre-populating on the login page, (2) for users that choose "Automatically sign me in…", we use a cookie to enable this function and (3) login and logoff time/date information recorded for aggregate, anonymous reporting purposes.

Log Files. As with most websites, we gather anonymous user traffic data such as browser type, operating system, screen resolution, referring/exit pages, etc. We collect this anonymous information through a third-party tool, Google Analytics, for the purposes of understanding trends, site improvements needed, and general performance of the site.

Employee Access. We limit employee access to user information, requiring administrator login credentials and only used as needed for development/programming reasons or to resolve a technical issue.

Legal. We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our website.

Changes. If we make any changes to our Privacy Policy, we will update this document with an effective date and ensure that it is current on our website.
